On 9 September 1985, the BBC hired their first in-vision continuity announcer since the 1960s to present the links between its weekday afternoon children's programmes.  Phillip Schofield was recruited on a 2 week contract by BBC Presentation, but 22 years later and that format has developed into its own channel.

The Sound of Sunday marked this anniversary on 9 September with some special guests...

Amdy Crane and Simon Parkin, two of the CBBC team of the late eighties and early nineties appeared on the show to talk about their memories of presenting on CBBC.

There are some visual memories of what has become something of another TV institution at www.the-bromm-cupboard.co.uk
